What is the TB-500?
TB-500 (43 aa) is a synthetic peptide consisting of 43 amino acids, corresponding to the full sequence of endogenous Thymosin β4 (Tβ4) - a protein naturally found in eukaryotic tissues and involved in the regulation of cell cytoskeleton dynamics. This compound has been characterised as a model peptide in studies of cell migration, actin filament reorganisation and tissue remodelling processes. By retaining the complete amino acid sequence of thymosin beta-4, TB-500 shows high structural compatibility with the endogenous form, making it a useful research tool.
In experimental studies, TB-500 has been used to analyse mechanisms related to actin polymerisation, cell adhesion and regulation of cell migration in in vitro and in vivo models. Its involvement in the modulation of structural and regulatory protein expression was described, as well as in processes related to angiogenesis, cellular response to mechanical injury and extracellular matrix remodelling. Attention was also drawn to its indirect interactions with selected signalling pathways involved in inflammatory response and repair processes.
Due to its unambiguous chemical structure, full sequence compatibility with endogenous thymosin beta-4 and high reproducibility of the observed biological effects, TB-500 is used as a research tool in cell biology, molecular biology and experimental pharmacology. In the scientific literature, it is sometimes used as a reference peptide in studies of cell migration, cytoskeletal reorganisation and in the validation of analytical methods used to evaluate bioactive peptides. The preparation is intended for research work only.

What the product package contains (TB-500 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)
The ordered product will come packaged in a sturdy tube resistant to transport damage, and inside you will find:
- Sterile vial of TB-500 acetate (43aa) 10mg powder (peptide stabiliser mannitol)
- Sterile vial with 3 ml bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)
The product has an expiry date of a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years from the date of dispatch - depending on the batch.
The safety data sheet (SDS) for this product can be downloaded here
How to prepare a solution for laboratory testing?
- Remove the caps from both vials.
- Apply spirit to a cotton swab and disinfect the elastics in both vials.
- Using an insulin syringe, pour 1 ml of bacteriostatic water into the powder vial (along the wall of the vessel)
- Roll the vial in your hands or spin the vial making a vortex until the solution dissolves. This activity can be done vigorously, it is important not to foam the solution with strong shaking.
- The solution prepared in this way gives us a concentration of 2 mg of Tb-500 peptide (43aa) for every 0.2 ml of solution, which should be stored in the refrigerator from now on. You can also prepare the solution in other concentrations as required.
Storage and transportation
In dry form, the peptide should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Even longer transport by courier will not affect the stability and quality of the product.
In wet form (after the solution has been prepared), the peptide should be refrigerated at all times and used within 30 days.
Research use of the product (TB-500 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)
The product is intended exclusively for in vitro research applications and acts as a reagent for molecular and cellular analyses targeting cytoskeletal reorganisation processes and cell dynamics. In laboratory models it is used to:
-
studies of the interaction of the full sequence of thymosin beta-4 with selected cellular markers and structures involved in cell adhesion and migration,
-
to assess the effects on the expression of regulatory and structural proteins in cell cultures with different phenotypes,
-
analysis of changes in protein levels and activity of potential signalling pathways involved in the cellular response to mechanical and environmental stimuli,
-
support validation, comparison and optimisation procedures carried out in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry research.
