Product quality (Mots-c 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)

Our Mots-c peptide product has been tested by a certified Polish laboratory. The results can be seen in the product gallery. The product is endotoxin-free.

What does the product package (Mots-c 10 mg + bacteriostatic water) contain?

The ordered product will come packaged in a sturdy tube resistant to transport damage, and inside you will find:

  • Sterile powder vial of Mots-c acetate 10mg + (peptide stabiliser - mannitol)
  • Sterile vial with 3 ml bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)

The product has an expiry date of a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years from the date of dispatch - depending on the batch.

The safety data sheet (SDS) for this product can be downloaded here

How to prepare a solution for laboratory testing?

  1. Remove the caps from both vials.
  2. Apply spirit to a cotton swab and disinfect the elastics in both vials.
  3. Using an insulin syringe, pour 3ml of bacteriostatic water into the powder vial (along the wall of the vessel)
  4. Roll the vial in your hands or spin the vial making a vortex until the solution dissolves. This activity can be done vigorously, it is important not to foam the solution with strong shaking.
  5. The solution prepared in this way gives us a concentration of 500 mcg of Mots-c peptide for every 0.15 ml of solution, which should be stored in the fridge from now on

Storage and transportation

In dry form, the peptide should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Even longer transport by courier will not affect the stability and quality of the product.

In wet form (after the solution has been prepared), the peptide should be refrigerated at all times and used within 30 days.

Research use of the product (MOTS-c 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)

The product is intended for research use only under conditions in vitro, where it is used as a specialised reagent in molecular and cellular analyses targeting mechanisms of metabolic regulation and mitochondrial signalling. In laboratory models it is used to:

  • studies of the interactions of mitochondrial signal peptides with selected metabolic markers and elements of cellular energy stress response pathways,

  • to assess effects on the expression of genes and proteins related to glucose metabolism, energy homeostasis and cellular adaptation in cell cultures with different metabolic profiles,

  • analysis of changes in the activity of selected signalling pathways, including mechanisms dependent on energy sensor kinases, oxidative stress responses and mitonuclear signalling,

  • to support validation, comparison and optimisation procedures in research in mitochondrial biology, cell biology, biochemistry and experimental pharmacology.

Disclaimer

The product is not a medicine, food product or dietary supplement. The product is classified as a chemical reagent/reference material authorised in the European Union under the European REACH Act, and can only be used for scientific laboratory research.
