What does the product package contain (SS-31 50 mg + bacteriostatic water)?

The ordered product will come packaged in a sturdy tube resistant to transport damage, and inside you will find:

• Sterile vial of SS-31 powder 50mg + (peptide stabiliser – mannitol)
• Sterile vial with 3 ml bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)

The product has an expiry date of a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years from the date of dispatch - depending on the batch.

How to prepare a solution for laboratory testing?

1. Remove the caps from both vials.
2. Apply spirit to a cotton swab and disinfect the elastics in both vials.
3. Using an insulin syringe, pour 3ml of bacteriostatic water into the powder vial (along the wall of the vessel)
4. Roll the vial in your hands or spin the vial making a vortex until the solution dissolves. This activity can be done vigorously, it is important not to foam the solution with strong shaking.
5. A solution prepared in this way gives us a concentration of 5 mg of SS-31 for every 0.3 ml of solution, which from now on should be stored in the fridge

Storage and transportation

In dry form, the peptide should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Even longer transport by courier will not affect the stability and quality of the product.

In wet form (after the solution has been prepared), the peptide should be refrigerated at all times and used within 30 days.

Research application of the product (SS-31 50 mg + bacteriostatic water)

The product is intended exclusively for in vitro research applications, where it is used as a specialised reagent in molecular and cellular analyses directed at the mechanisms of mitochondrial homeostasis and redox processes. In laboratory models it is used for:

• studies on the interactions of short peptides with selected mitochondrial structures and membrane lipids, including cardiolipin,
