What is KPV?
KPV (Lys-Pro-Val) is a short, synthetic tripeptide composed of three amino acids: lysine, proline and valine. It represents a fragment of a sequence of larger biologically active peptides and is being studied in the context of peptide-cell interactions and peptide signaling in peripheral tissues. Due to its simple, well-defined chemical structure, good stability and solubility in aqueous media, KPV is sometimes used as a model compound in the study of short bioactive peptides.
In experimental studies, KPV has been used to analyze mechanisms related to cellular responses to environmental factors and the modulation of processes within epithelia and highly proliferative systems. In in vitro and in vivo models, its involvement in regulating the expression of cellular mediators related to the balance of the tissue environment, as well as in indirectly influencing signaling pathways related to inflammatory response and cellular stress, was described. Attention was paid to its potential interactions with local regulatory mechanisms and its effects on cell behavior under experimental conditions.
Due to its small molecule size, high reproducibility of observed effects in preclinical models and ease of analytical identification, KPV is used as a research tool in molecular biology, cell biology and signal peptide research. It is also used in the scientific literature as a reference compound in the evaluation of cellular response processes, peptide-receptor interactions, and in the validation of analytical methods used in the study of short bioactive peptides. The formulation is intended for research work only.

Product quality (KPV 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)
Our KPV peptide product has been tested by a certified Polish laboratory. You can see the results in the product gallery. The product is endotoxin free.
What does the product package (KPV 10 mg + bacteriostatic water) contain?
The ordered product will come packaged in a sturdy tube resistant to transport damage, and inside it you will find:
- Sterile powder vial of KPV acetate 10mg + (peptide stabilizer - mannitol)
- Sterile vial of 3 ml bacteriostatic water (0.9% benzyl alcohol)
The product has an expiration date of a minimum of one year and a maximum of two years from the date of shipment - depending on the batch.
The safety data sheet (SDS) for this product can be downloaded here
How to prepare the solution for the laboratory test?
- Remove the caps from both vials.
- Apply spirit to a cotton swab and disinfect the rubber bands in both vials.
- Using an insulin syringe, pour 3ml of bacteriostatic water into the powder vial (along the wall of the vessel)
- Roll the vial in your hands or spin the vial making a vortex until the solution dissolves. This activity can be done vigorously, it is important not to foam the solution with strong shaking.
- This prepared solution gives us a concentration of 500 mcg of KPV peptide for every 0.15 ml of solution, which should be stored in the refrigerator from now on
Storage and transportation
In dry form, the peptide should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Even longer transportation by courier will not affect the stability and quality of the product.
In wet form (after preparing the solution), the peptide should be in the refrigerator all the time and used up within 30 days.
Research use of the product (KPV 10 mg + bacteriostatic water)
The product is intended for research use only under conditions in vitro, where it is used as a specialized reagent in molecular and cellular analyses aimed at studying peptide signaling and cellular responses to environmental stimuli. In laboratory models, it is used for:
-
Analysis of the interaction of short tripeptides with selected cellular markers and elements regulating cell behavior in the culture environment,
-
Assessing the effects on the expression of cellular mediators and regulators of biological responses in cell cultures with different functional profiles,
-
studying changes in protein levels and the activity of potential signaling pathways associated with cellular responses to environmental stress and chemical stimuli,
-
to support validation, comparison and optimization procedures in molecular biology, biochemistry and cell biology research, particularly in the work on short bioactive peptides.
