What is GHK-Cu?
GHK-Cu (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine copper(II)) is a low-molecular-weight peptide-metal complex consisting of a GHK tripeptide (Gly-His-Lys) coordinated with a copper(II) ion. The compound occurs naturally in mammalian bodies, where it has been identified in plasma, saliva and extracellular matrix. Its structure and physicochemical properties were characterized in detail in the second half of the 20th century in the context of research on metal-binding peptides and their role in regulating cellular processes. Due to the stability of the complex and its good solubility in aqueous media, GHK-Cu has become a useful model in studies of peptide signaling and metal ion homeostasis.
In experimental studies, GHK-Cu has been used to analyze mechanisms related to the regulation of gene expression, extracellular matrix metabolism and cellular response to oxidative stress. Its effects on modulation of metalloproteinase enzyme activity, expression of growth factors and structural proteins, as well as on processes related to cell proliferation and differentiation in in vitro and in vivo models were described. Attention was also paid to its ability to participate in redox reactions and indirect effects on pro- and antioxidant balance under experimental conditions.
Due to its unambiguous chemical structure, high reproducibility of observed biological effects and natural occurrence in mammalian organisms, GHK-Cu is used as a research tool in molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry. It is also sometimes used in the scientific literature as a reference peptide in studies of extracellular matrix remodeling, regulation of gene expression, and validation of analytical methods used in the analysis of short peptides and peptide-metal complexes. The preparation is intended for research work only.

The safety data sheet (SDS) for this product can be downloaded here
How to prepare the solution for the laboratory test?
- Remove the caps from both vials.
- Apply spirit to a cotton swab and disinfect the rubber bands in both vials.
- Using an insulin syringe, pour 3ml of bacteriostatic water into the powder vial (along the wall of the vessel)
- Roll the vial in your hands or spin the vial making a vortex until the solution dissolves. This activity can be done vigorously, it is important not to foam the solution with strong shaking.
- The solution prepared in this way gives us a concentration of 2.5 mg of GHK-Cu peptide for every 0.15 ml of solution, which should be stored in the refrigerator from now on.
Storage and transportation
In dry form, the peptide should be stored at room temperature away from direct sunlight. Even longer transportation by courier will not affect the stability and quality of the product.
In wet form (after preparing the solution), the peptide should be in the refrigerator all the time and used up within 30 days.
